Ain't That A Kick In The Head

Maybe it was the rain that lulled me into a winding sleep.Or perhaps it was just plain fatigue. Whichever it was, I woke up late. I was supposed to head over to school for badminton at 9am. Gawrsh its already 9.30am and I'm still in bed. So I rushed over to school only to find out that Anthony and Catherine on their way out. Zero was doing his tennis thing in the pouring rain. Jonathan and Inez had woke up late as well. So I was in the sports hall alone. Waiting for...something to happen.

When I was fiddling with my handphone suddenly Len came up to me. She didn't tell me that she would be coming today. Gee...what a pleasant surprise. So the two of us had a few rounds until Jonathan arrived with his friends. Later a totally drenched Zero joined us.

I had to bail at 1pm for my weekly friday prayers. The rain seemed to have stopped momentarily. However on the way back to NYP the weather took a turn for the worse. When I returned to the sports hall at 2.15pm, Jon and his friends were still there. So I resumed playing badminton for another hour.

Finally when I'm back at home, I started chatting with Zero on MSN. He said that wanted to play the keyboard game at the arcade. I tried persuading some people to join us but of course I got shot down. ( I don't even want to try asking my class mates to watch movies or anything else anymore. Its just depressing and a collosal waste of Smses.)

We met at the North East Line station and proceeded to the Star Factory Arcade where Zero flaunted his 'keying' and 'tapping' skills. Wow...I'm so amazed-not!...lol. When that particular piece of itinenary had been dispensed with, we hustled over to X-zone's X-box room.

One thing's for certain, I'm never going to play video games with Yan Yan (kosong) again. He doesn't compromise! [Yeah you don't Zero...jeez. You're agrresive and I'm submissive. Think Comskill] After that lousy half hour we went strolling round Orchard. The crowd's overwhelming and we're desperately trying to avoid the 'foamers'. (Nasty vendors who spray sickening white paste on unsuspecting people)

We walked all the way to the big tree opposite of Wheelock place. Oooh nice tree. Zero grumbled about his performance being cancelled. Following that we took the longer route to 'That CD shop' and did some browsing. I bought Westlife's Allow Us To Be Frank and went home...next year. haha I know that was lame but I had to say it.

Happy New Year Everybody!

Don't mess with my lollipops

Do the hustle

It's been a while since I've posted something....so here goes

To all my friends in dmd0406 do you realise that we've done about hundreds of potraits in the duration of last semester? I'm sure you do..."D'uh Hisyam whats your point? That was so obvious -BURP."

Uh yeah...well back to my proposition. FACT : Ms Gail hasn't seen our class portraits before. Do you see where I'm getting at now? So if hypothetically - one was to hand up that particular series of potraits(that we did last sem.)weekly, we wouldn't have to draw them again.

Gasps*Ooooh. Yeah I know...so uncharacteristically evil of me (muahahahahaha) Ermm maybe not.

Oblivious

I don't believe it...I have Animax on CH 1. It must be some kind of Christmas miracle. Did anybody else knew about this? Is it just a preview? Wow --- an anime channel airing 24/7 and all of them dubbed in English. I must've done something good this year to deserve something like this. Drools*There are so many cool shows that I have to watch. But where do I begin? This is what happens when you're spoilt for choice. Bother...

Windows XP is working fine now after a few tweaking. I still prefer Win 98 though because I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Darn it I still miss Win 95 and Win 3.1. Maybe...MS-DOS too.

Faster Quicker Better

The portable hard disk that I had bought on Thursday had failed to install its driver in WIN 98. Laments* Not again... This always happen when you're using an outdated OS. I hate microsoft. (Who doesn't?) So I went back to school thinking that I could get some help from the business students who sold me the hard disk. Unfortunately when I reached school at 3pm the gates were closed. I tried flashing my card to open them. "Access Denied". ???

I didn't bother to wait because I knew the fair was over since it was a half day due to Christmas Eve. So its time for plan B. (I'm making this up as I go...lol) I walked over to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5. There was a computer hardware and software shop in the mall. I had previously went there to purchase the thumbdrive. I asked the saleswoman about my problem and she gave me her advice. It wouldn't work. I've tried it before.

Took her advice and thought about it as I hustled over to the games connection shop. I asked whether they were selling the AV cable for PS 1. $18 per cable. I called Yanashi (Shan Shan) and informed her about the shop. (She Smsed me on the train earlier, asking if I knew where I could buy it).

Later I called Yaoguang and inquired about WinXP. He said I needed the real deal to activate it. NOOOOO....this means I have to spend more dough. But I really need the hard disk to work on the assignments.

So in a nushell I bought Win XP. ($165???) I had to spend the whole night trying to fix the internet connection problem too. Sigh...

1/144 HG FREEDOM

The seeds of Freedom

Immediately after school, I went to buy the Gundam Seed scale model which had caught my eye the other day. (After failing to curb the temptations that had been haunting my head. Noooo! consumers always lose....Can't resist the urge to splurge....oooh look at the cool looking Gundam---I must have it. Ka-ching $$$. Another successful purchase.) Bah- I have no willpower...ironic considering the name of the model. :P

This is my first attempt at a Gundam Model. Well, it was a decent result anyway. (Thats what all amateurs say. Trust me)

0406 :Crossroads

There goes my holiday out the window. Thank God. I was getting bored and even though Bertrand Russell was in praise of idleness, personally it's driving me crazy. I can't possibly twiddle my thumbs forever>>>>>>

I couldn't sleep well. I woke up at 4am and went to school early. The briefing was about an hour long and following that we were dimissed. Damn, we were supposed to have no classes today. And I came back for this? Admittedly I had nothing to do at home, so I guess - no harm done.

Some of my classmates were sporting new fashion accessories, hairstyles and skin albeit not by choice.

Eunice has new specs and braces. She's even tied her hair in a ponytail. Hmm she doesn't look so tomboy now. She's moved on. Now she's a nerdy tomboy. Ha haha ha. OMG she's gonna kill me when she reads this post.

Dorothy has sunburn(peeling skin).

Inez has longer fringes(hair).

Wen Ping has shorter fringes(also hair).

Zero replaced his Wilson wrist band. The unsightly tan line is still there though...

Haidar wears her MacDonald Attire and claimed that she embarrased herself.

Too Much Ver 1.1

Too Much

So I came home late for three consecutive days. The latest being at 1 am and that was on a Monday morning when a certain friend made a certain late movie booking. It wasn't my idea to arrive home late. I can't believe she's so insanely preoccupied by my timings. She sms me at 8pm if I wasn't at home already. Asks me when I'm going home. She doesn't stop there. Then she probes and interrogates until she completely humiliates me in the company of my friends. Gawd...I'm 21 years old already, I know how to take care of myself. Why doesn't she trust me? I've never been in trouble with the law. I don't go clubbing or mixing around with bad company. I don't even have a girlfriend so nothing *you know that stuff* is happening when I'm out.

I've heard this joke on a TV sitcom(Titus). The comedian makes a statement, "Being a teenager was the worst 31 years of my life". (SOBS""") That is oh-so true.

Showtime

Its out. The latest timetable for the the second semester is available for perusal. Wow...new modules. They sound tough too. Damn, I should start practising on my painting. Hmm...there's no colour theory. And I bought new brushes too. Alrighty its showtime,I have to do my best. This time I know how the system works. Not to mention the limit of my abilities. IM BURSTING AT THE SEAMS. Let me at 'em. Give me assignments, projects, whatever???

"C'mon Hisyam you can do it!"

Hey...theres no motivation like self motivation eh?

In fact I'm so worked up about it, I should take a nap to relax myself. NO...its not the same old story. Its the same older story. What? There's still a week left...I have to use every precious moment to idle, ok.

A Little Less Conversation

Its the 3rd week into Syawal which is the month moslems celebrate Eid. I'm still going out with friends and having reunions with former school mates(well at least some of them). Today, I had visited Redha's and Faizal's house. Both of them live in Bukit Panjang and are my college buddies. The thing about having these get-togethers, you realise that people use this opportunity to catch up with your life's progress. They'll ask you stuff like,"Are you working now?", "Do you have a girlfriend?", "WTH? Are you still alive?". HAHA okay maybe not the latter.
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually proud of the fact that I'm a poly student. Sure I keep hearing about how my peers are going to their Universities and doing their degrees. Then I tell them I have degrees too. Don't they realise I'm wearing them(spectacles)? For once in my life I know that this is the right path for me. Nothing can bring me down.(I'm referring to mental people, don't tackle me)
OH yeah my confidence is at an all time high. Its great being at the peak. Can't wait for 2nd semester to begin. I'm an artist baby.

Later in the afternoon. I went to my (NS) squad mate's open house together with Pe Ter. I'm such a freak. I keep whining that I'm lonely but I have friends like Pe Ter who I really can gel with. BTW, He's in NTU (No big deal. I'm in Nanyang too...lol) I am constantly reminded how lucky I am to have won the Singapore Idol...friends like him. We should spend some time hanging out. Oh yeah I use cool words.

I Not Stupid

I really dislike comedians making fools out of innocent bystanders and audiences. They are so immature and mean in nature. I have nothing against pranks and the teasing but there definitely has to be a boundary. Tom Green has such a freaky humour that I find it a total turnoff. I saw a re-run of Saturday Night Live hosted by the zany one. OMG he tried to kiss his own father and I can explicitly see the shock in his eyes. Obviously he wasn't expecting this from his jerkoff son. Then there's The Assitant, hosted by another clown with bad humour. Another fine example would be the crass programme called When Hidden Cameras Attack. There's good situational comedy (Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller) then there's dumbass jokers like those I've mentioned above. How can something be funny when real people get hurt or humiliated? Only in America do these morons thrive. Its pretty sad actually. I just switch channels or turn off the power when I see these things.

Angels and Demons has a very unexpected ending. It was so shocking. So I recommend fans of Dan Brown to try reading this prequel. Warning! Don't start reading A&D unless you're prepared to spare the rest of the day trying to finish it. I still stand by my opinion though. Da Vinci's code is better.

The original Singaporean Idle

So Taufik Batisah won the battle. I was expecting Slyvester to clinch the title due to his popularity. (Don't get me wrong)I don't watch the Singapore Idol episodes weekly, neither do I support any of those contestants. As a neutral party, I feel that Taufik was more deserving because he did perform exceedingly well. Xanadu who was a staunch supporter of Taufik even forced me to vote. $1 only. No more than that. Even my sister is gaga over that guy. And after this sordid nightmare the AMI. I hate reality shows. Its growing...like that supervirus that's eventually going to wipeout the human race.

Going off the tangent here; I just bought a new book.Dan Brown's, Angels and Demons: The prequel to The Da Vinci Code. Yeah the book is good....but the plot seems like a rip off from the original. Its basically the same formula. Grisly murder+connected to some secret society+religion+a cute intellectual, scientist(woman)+scenic locations. Anyway, the book is just as unputdownable as the first. Got you for a sec there right, u thought I was going to 'roast' the book. Its good but not as sweet as reading the DVC.
